Lemon-Tahini Sauce

Perfect to serve over falafel!!  Tahini has a pretty strong taste so you don’t need to use much of this sauce!

In a food processor, puree:

  • 1/4 cup tahini (or sesame seeds if you are using a high powered blender)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced (no need to mince if using a high powered blender)
  • 1 Tbsp nutritional yeast (optional)
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice (about 2 – 3 lemons)
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Based on this recipe.

I tweaked this a little tonight… this one has less lemon tang and adds in parsley….

  • 1/3 cup tahini (or sesame seeds if you are using a high powered blender)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced (no need to mince if using a high powered blender)
  • 4 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp fresh parsley
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 – 7 Tbsp water, or as needed
  • fresh ground black pepper
  • pinch of cayenne
